Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin See Big Changes in Immigrant Rights

Immigrants in the past had some rights even when they were working to come to the United States. Many of these rights came from activists, like Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin, who wanted to see them be successful and wanted to help them with their journey to a better place to live.

The immigrants, though, have recently started to be hit with huge issues that come directly from Donald Trump’s initiative to keep people out of the country and make things harder for people to be able to deal with when they are in different types of situations that they are a part of.

When Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin first started helping people out, they were simply journalists. They reported on things that were corrupt and they tried to make a difference with the things that they were able to do but it was sometimes hard for them to really bring about any type of real change in the world that they were a part of.

It was something that they struggled with but also something that they knew they wanted to do differently in the future if they had the opportunity to do so.

After the men decided to do a report on the Phoenix sheriff’s office, they were arrested. This was an illegal arrest because they had the right to be able to publish what they wanted. It was not only a problem for them but it stood for a bigger problem in the world of civil rights and human rights.

It was something that Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin had dealt with in the past with other people but it was not something that they ever thought they would have to contend with on their own. The men wanted something to change and decided to fight the case.

The court hearings took a long time and they were very expensive. The men had to deal with a lot of issues while they were going through the case and it was difficult. During this time, they learned that some people cannot fight the same type of cases because they simply do not have the money to be able to do it.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin didn’t want people to have to deal with this anymore and decided that they would do something about it once their case was over and they could go back to being activists.

Since the men were educated on their rights and they were able to fight the charges that were brought against them, the case did not stand up in court. The sheriff’s office paid them over three million dollars to make up for the issues that they caused. The men then used this money for good.

They started the Frontera Fund that people can use when they are going through a civil rights case or when they want to be able to have money to fight a violation that has happened to them through a government or law enforcement agency.
